Arcajoy offers several familiar ways to play a friend in the browser, but the details matter: a pool match asks for different preparation from checkers, and its Tic Tac Toe boards extend beyond the usual three-by-three grid.
Choose the contest before creating the room
Checkers is a good choice when you want to compare moves and replies. It uses English-style rules on an eight-by-eight board. Captures are compulsory, ordinary pieces capture forwards, and kings move over short distances. Read those conditions together before a first match if you normally play another variant.
Dominoes (https://arcajoy.com/en/games/domino) offers Classic and All Fives. Classic plays towards 100 points; All Fives uses a 150-point target and adds scoring from the exposed ends. Its current interface is English. Agree on the mode before sending an invitation so both players expect the same scoring system.
For aiming and position, choose 8 Ball Pool Arena. Clear your assigned solids or stripes before finishing on the eight. Pay attention to the turn and foul indicators: pocketing a ball alone does not establish that the shot was legal.
Tic Tac Toe (https://arcajoy.com/en/games/tic-tac-toe) provides another kind of planning. Five-by-five and seven-by-seven boards require four consecutive marks; the nine-by-nine board requires five. Confirm the board size together instead of bringing the three-in-a-row expectation from a smaller game.
Use one room and one current invitation
Open the chosen game and use its friend or private-room controls. One player should create the room and share the invitation with the other. Complete sign-in if the interface requests it, then wait until the room shows that the second player has joined and the match is ready.
If both people create rooms independently, they may each be waiting in a different place. Pick one room and send its current invitation again. Check the selected game, mode and room state before changing settings or starting over.
Quick matchmaking serves a different purpose: it finds an opponent rather than selecting your friend. Computer practice is available in checkers, dominoes and pool while you are waiting. For the full invitation checklist, see Arcajoy's guide to playing with friends.
